Cold Fronts

Ah, how I've learned to love the "frente fria" or cold front here in Rio. Yesterday turned out to be the hottest day of 2003 in Rio. The highest recorded temperature was recorded at 45 C / 113 F and humid as hell (higher than I had reported yesterday). Late at night huge winds came through, the Christ statue got covered in clouds, it rained like crazy and today the temperature at the same location was listed at 26 C / 79. Talk about a drop! I used to hate these cold fronts that can last up to a week or two here, but now they bring with them a great relief from the heat. One can actually concentrate and get some work done!
