Welcome to the Blog

Since I just sent out that mass email letting everyone know about this new blog, I figured I'd toss a welcome note up and a brief update as to what's going on with me down in Rio.

I've been down here for a little over 2 1/2 years now. Currently I'm making ends meet by building websites and teaching English conversation. I'm playing quite a bit of pandeiro and every now and then I even get paid to do it, but that's just an added bonus. I'm currently working on 2 sites, both for musicians, but one client is here in Rio and the other is a jazz musician back in NYC (by the way, if you know of anyone needing a site ... !).

I'm toying with a couple of music related business ideas, but nothing has come together yet ... tricky stuff. I also occassionally do other work like translation, etc..

My film project is still on hold, but may come back to life soon.

I was back in the US for the first time in about 2 years back in July and it was wonderful to be back. I guess I need to write an entry about the trip one of these days.

I have loads of notes about cultural/social topics here in Brasil. In the near future I plan on getting all of those thoughts into the blog.
