Scott Feiner - Pandeiro Jazz
It's an old story: the the "gringo" musician comes to Brazil, hears our music and drops to his knees when he hears the first beat played on the pandeiro. The American ex-jazz guitarist Scott Feiner followed that path but took his passion to the extreme (left his guitar and country and moved to Brazil to become a pandeiro player). But he didn't leave jazz behind. On this CD he recorded songs by John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Horace Silver and Stevie Wonder, using the pandeiro as the foundation. At first the idea of jazz with pandeiro might throw you off, but if you pay attention you'll hear the richness of the music and the possibilities of the instrument. Label: Delira Música.

I'm very pleased to announce that I will be back in New York City to celebrate the release of my new CD, Pandeiro Jazz. This is the first gig we will play together since recording the CD, so we expect it to be an exciting night. What makes it even more special is that I used to play at SMOKE before it was SMOKE and still AUGIE'S back in my guitar playing days. This was 12 years ago! Here are the details:
